A disoriented elderly woman found wandering the streets of Flushing this weekend was identified and returned to her family late Monday night.
The woman, Soo-Won Park, in her mid-70s, had apparently wandered from her home on Roosevelt Island. It is not known how she ended up in in Flushing.
Family members identified Park after seeing a photograph of her that police had circulated. She was taken home from Queens General Hospital shortly before midnight on Monday.
At 7:30 p.m. on Sunday police found Park at the corner of Main Street and Roosevelt Avenue. Police reports at the time said she was suffering from “diminished mental capabilities.” Speaking in an “Asian dialect,” as police put it, Park was unable to identify herself or to say where she lived.
